Kantara OTT release: Rishab Shetty directorial locks new release date on Amazon Prime Video

The Kannada blockbuster movie Kantara has been breaking records at the box office ever since it was released pan India on September 30, 2022. At a time when Bollywood movies were struggling to impress the fans, Kantara came as a boon for the box office and is still running in theaters strongly. Kantara is a multi-lingual film and in a span of 30 days, its Hindi version has earned almost Rs 75 crore despite Uunchai and Black Panther 2's dominance. As a result, fans are eagerly waiting for Kantara OTT release date. In fact, for past few days fans have been trending the movie asking for confirmation on Kantara OTT release date. The buzz around Kantara OTT release is much hyped because the movie has been shifting its date which has left fans confused.

 

Earlier, Rishab Shetty’s directorial Kantara was slated to release on November 4, however, it was postponed. Again, it was reported that Kantara release date has been locked to November 18, however, it has yet again turned out to be a hoax. Now, Kantara's OTT release date has been confirmed. As per Lets OTT and Telugu media, Kantara new OTT release date has been locked to November 24, 2022. Reportedly, Kantara will be released on Amazon Prime Video on November 24, 2022. It is pertinent to mention here that Amazon Prime Video and the makers of Kantara are yet to make their official statement. Therefore, if the movie continues to perform good on the box office, Kantara's OTT release date might be postponed again.

 

For Kantara Hindi, the Kannada feature film associated with KGF 2 makers ruled at box offices in the Hindi belt as well collecting a whopping Rs 75 crores through its dubbed versions in just 30 days from its release. Rishab Shetty has brought in a spectacular piece of art on display, besides writing and directing he has played the lead character of Shiva in Kantara. The two main leads in Murali and Shiva are at loggerheads with each other in the movie over their duties.

About Kantara

 

Kantara begins with the opening plot back in the 18th century when a king gives a piece of land to the villagers in lieu of peace and joy. Several decades down the line, the descender of the king arrives at a Bhoota Kola (traditional dance in honor of the local deities) and threatens the tribals to return their land, however, ends up dying a tragic death. The film, which was released on September 30, is an action-thriller written and directed by Rishab and produced by Vijay Kiragandur. Bhoota Kola is a ritual performed in South India where local deities and gods/ goddesses are worshipped. This practice has been going on for last 500 years. In Tulu, word ‘Bhoota’ means God and ‘Kola’ means performance which is from dusk to dawn. People here worship gods and goddesses who protect them from any danger that might come into their life.
