Kapurthala Civil Hospital quarters erupts into flames: son-in-law & pet dog burnt alive, three more injured

The son-in-law and a pet dog of a woman working in the civil hospital were burnt alive in a fire incident late Friday night in a quarter of Kapurthala Civil Hospital. In this incident, all the belongings of the house were burnt to ashes and three women were also injured. It is mentioned that this fire broke out due to a short circuit, which was controlled by three fire brigade personnel after several hours of hard work.

 

According to the information received from neighbour Jeet Bahadur, Roshni, who was working on the post of peon in the hospital, lived in this quarter with her two daughters Poonam, Pooja and son-in-law Beera. Around 2:30 in the night, a fire broke out in the house due to short circuit of electricity. After a while, the fire brigade arrived and reportedly had to put a lot of effort into controlling the fire but unfortunately, her son-in-law Beera and her dog died in this fire. Roshni, Pooja and Poonam were also injured in this incident. The body of the deceased person has been kept in the mortuary.

 

Two of the injured are undergoing treatment in Civil Hospital Kapurthala and one in Jalandhar. The police are investigating the matter. Civil Hospital's SMO Dr. Sandeep Dhawan said that he had received information about the fire at 2:30 in the night. Following this he informed the fire brigade and reached the spot. The fire brigade took a few hours to bring the fire under control after a lot of efforts.
