ASHISHPURI Kapurthala,October 16: As part of Punjab Government's anti-drug campaign, Kapurthala Police in collaboration with Lovely Professional University organized a friendly hockey match at the university campus today with the support of Lovely Professional University to spread the message against drugs and promote sports, in which Olympian Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Varun Kumar specially attended.
SSP Vatsala Gupta while meeting the players before the show match between the Kapurthala Police and LPU team invited the youth to engage in sports as much as possible in order to build a healthy society. Creation can be implemented. She said that at present the scourge of drugs is a big challenge, but with the support of people and youth, this social evil can be completely eradicated. She further said that Kapurthala Police is making continuous efforts to take the drug-free Punjab campaign started by the district to the ground level and is giving a strong message against drugs by going to various social workers, religious organizations and educational institutions. 

The District Police Chief also stated that in today's effort, Olympians Manpreet Singh, Varun Kumar and Mandeep Singh, who won the gold medal for the Indian hockey team in the Asian Games in the past, also inspired the youth towards sports so that they join the sports which they can gain fame at the national and international level. Vatsala Gupta said that the Kapurthala Police is fully committed to the eradication of drugs in the district and is working to create a special social media group by contacting various educational institutions and students in the coming days so that with their participation, complete eradication of drugs and can be ensured.
