In cases where venomous tumours are removed surgically, the protein Fibrin wafer will help to prevent cancer from spreading to the rest of the body.

With this easy to use wafer, curcumin is provided to the cancer site as it also aids clotting to a great extent. After applying on the affected area, the wafer keeps releasing the curcumin for long periods depending on the initial dose incorporated in it.

Other than curcumin, there is albumin also present in the wafer which binds together the cancer cells and permits the curcumin to flow easily. The body naturally starts to break down the Fibrin wafer. The use of wafer in treating cancerous tumours is also known to prevent cancer from spreading to other parts of the body.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) supported the development of this technology and the product is likely to be shifted to industries to begin clinical trials and to start the commercialisation of the product.
