Watch: Kirron Kher’s first video after cancer diagnosis, asks son Sikandar to get married

A frail-looking but smiling Kirron Kher thanked everyone for their kind wishes during her son Sikandar Kher's Instagram live session. Multiple myeloma, a kind of blood cancer, has been afflicting the actor-politician.

On Wednesday night, Sikandar Kher went live on Instagram, showing off his mother, actor-politician Kirron Kher, who has been undergoing cancer treatment. Kirron was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, a few months ago, according to Anupam Kher, who revealed her condition on Twitter. See Kirron Kher first appearance in a video.




Sikandar captioned his session with: “This one is short and sweet .. a hello from the family with tit bits from me as well .. thank you all for the love you send my mother ❤️.”



Sikandar said at the start of the Instagram live session, “I am sitting with the parents and you can get a nice glimpse of Mrs Kher’s feet.” Kirron responded by doing a funny jig with her feet to say "hello." In the video, Kirron appeared frail but pleased. Her arm was likewise in a sling.

Sikander also praised the family's well-wishers and stated that Kirron was doing much better.


He said, “Thank you for all your love, now that you saw her feet. Thank you for constantly asking about her, she should hear this because I am not around all day when you ask, and she is here. Thank you so much, she is doing a lot better.”


Kirron, who is shown relaxing on her couch in the video, requested that Sikander display her face. She then greeted everyone with a broad smile and the words,  “Thank you everybody for your good wishes and love, thank you very much.” Anupam Kher, Sikandar's father, was also featured in the video.

Kirron can also be heard telling Sikander that "you'll be 41 in a few months" and that they should get married soon.


Anupam revealed Kirron's sickness in April of this year. In a social media message, he said, “Just so that rumours don’t get the better of a situation Sikandar and I would like to inform everyone that Kirron has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer.”

He later confirmed that rumours about her health were false.  “She is doing absolutely fine. In fact she got her 2nd vaccination done for COVID this afternoon. I will request people not to spread such negative news. Thanks. Stay safe.”
