Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, after doing the announcement the free electricity units for the people, has now issued new orders against bill defaulters.
CM Bhagwant Mann has summoned the list of bill defaulters within 3 days. This includes government as well as non-government connections. Apart from this, a warning has also been issued to the meter readers after 300 units of free electricity. If a wrong reading is taken somewhere, then the meter readers will also be punished. The government suspects that the meter readers should not take any less reading or harass anyone by taking more reading for free electricity.
Bhagwant Mann has given the responsibility of implementing the free electricity scheme in Punjab to his Additional Chief Secretary A.Venuprasad he has the responsibility of Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) of Powercom.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab on Saturday announced 300 units of free power to every household from July 1, according to the state's information and public relations department.
Free power of 300 units was the first guarantee of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to the electorate of Punjab in June 2021. This promise was similar to a scheme implemented by his government in New Delhi. Before this, Punjab’s consumers were getting the costliest power in the country.
