The fourth episode of Marvel's Loki is now out, and it adds to the mystery of the Time Variance Authority. The powerful Time Keepers aren't who they appear, and Loki and Sylvie are going to look like the good guys. Also, the post-credits scene in this one is not to be missed.

Here is a review of Loki Episode 4 (SPOILERS AHEAD)

This week's episode of Loki began with a flashback of a young Sylvie in Asgard, playing with her toys. Ravonna appears out of nowhere and takes her to the TVA for tampering with the sacred timeline. Sylvie uses Ravonna's TemPad to get away as she is about to be presented in front of a judge.

We return to Lamentis soon after this flashback, when we last saw Loki and Sylvie trying to board the ark, and she tells us about her troubled childhood. They have embraced death on this inescapable planet, and Sylvie tells Loki that her existence was a deviation from the sacred timeline, which is why she was taken as a child by the TVA.

She was in danger of being found wherever she went until she found that the little pockets of apocalypses would cover her tracks, and that's where she grew up.

It creates a nexus event when the two hold hands and talk about their lives. TVA traces them down and brings them to TVA's headquarters.

Loki meets Mobius again at TVA, who sends him to a bad memory prison, where he is getting slapped by Lady Sif, played by Jaimie Alexander. Loki tells Mobius that the TVA is lying to him during his interrogation. Mobius initially does not believe him, but soon begins to doubt everything around him. Loki almost confesses his feelings for Sylvie, who is another version of Loki, during one of these conversations.

Hunter B-15 is also dubious of Hunter C-20's disappearance and questions Sylvie about it. She was also enchanted by Sylvie and saw flashes of her real-life memories during her time on Earth two episodes ago. Sylvie is taken out of the TVA by B-15, who wants her to enchant her once more so she can see her life and then became a TVA officer.

Meanwhile, Mobius is starting to doubt TVA's reality and wonders if he, too, is a variant who once lived a life. He tricks  Ravonna and takes her TemPad, where he finds a video of C-20 discussing her real-life memories and how she was silenced by Ravonna. Mobius and Loki meet together with the intention of putting the record straight.

When Ravonna confronts him, he admits that he is aware of the truth, and she prunes him almost immediately. She also orders B-15 to be pruned. Owen Wilson's Mobius seems to have died.

The Time Keepers are then taken to Loki and Sylvie. All of the guards are killed in the assault, leaving Loki and Sylvie as the only survivors. They discover that these are mindless androids, not the mythical creatures they were built up to be when Sylvie attacks and beheads one of the time-keepers. And they begin to ask who, after all, is in control.

Ravonna wakes and prunes Loki appearing out of nowhere. He appears to be dead. Sylvie strikes her but does not prune her, insistent that she give her the whole truth.

Post credit scene

Loki wakes up in the post-credits scene, wonders aloud if he is still dead. He's woken in a post-apocalyptic New York City, where he encounters other Loki variants. Richard E. Grant (as an older Loki), Jack Veal (as a younger Loki), and Deobia Oparei play these variants (playing a Loki with Mjolnir). Loki, the alligator, is also here.

Loki is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
