In the face of increasing tensions between India and Pakistan, the Ludhiana administration conducted a press conference today to calm people's fears and detail emergency readiness. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain asked people to keep calm and strictly follow instructions from the government, especially during blackouts.

DC Jain clarified that any deviation from the blackout orders would amount to a legal breach and be dealt with sternly. "Yesterday's blackout was not entirely adhered to in certain parts of the city. Henceforth, defiance will entail strict legal action," he announced. He added that vehicles found on roads during blackouts must stop at once and park securely with their headlights switched off.

In order to assist the public at this time, an emergency helpline number has been released. "There is no need to panic. If any problem arises, citizens can contact the emergency number provided by the administration," he said.

The Deputy Commissioner also issued a stern warning against spreading false information. Legal action will be initiated against those spreading false or misleading information that might lead to panic or confusion.

Further, DC Jain urged the shopkeepers and traders not to engage in black marketing, excessive pricing, or hoarding of basic commodities. "Strict action will be initiated against those attempting to take advantage of the situation for profit purposes," he cautioned.

The Ludhiana administration is still keeping the situation under close observation and has assured complete readiness to maintain public safety and order.
