District Election Officer Himanshu Jain announced on Saturday that comprehensive arrangements are in place for the smooth and secure vote counting of the Ludhiana West by-poll, scheduled for June 23.
Jain stated that the counting of votes and postal ballots will commence at 7 AM in the presence of election observers, candidates, and their authorized representatives. Robust security measures have been implemented, including the deployment of paramilitary forces at counting centers to safeguard electronic voting machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines. Continuous monitoring is ensured through closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance.
The DEO emphasized that entry to the counting centers will be strictly regulated, allowing only candidates, their representatives, media personnel, and authorized individuals with valid identity cards issued by the Election Commission of India.
