In a major drug bust, 9 people allegedly involved in the International Drug Smuggling Cartel were arrested by the Jalandhar Police along with 22 kg of opium being seized.
In a major drug bust, 9 people allegedly involved in the International Drug Smuggling Cartel were arrested by the Jalandhar Police along with 22 kg of opium being seized. According to reports, an opium grower and collector from Jharkhand was also arrested with nearly 12 kg of opium. Reportedly, the cartel involved 5 foreign based entities from UK, US, Australia & Canada with 6 customs officials from Delhi being named in facilitating the trades.
According to reports, A total fo 30 banks related to the drug cartel have been frozen with huge money transfer of around Rs. 9 crores. Along with 12 properties worth about Rs. 6 crores have been identified that were made from the precedes of the drug money. Along with this an Opium grower & collector was arrested from Jharkhand with 12 kg of Opium.
