Mamata Banerjee Viral Video: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee adopted a different way of connecting with people, during her visit to Darjeeling, on Tuesday, July 12, at a roadside stall, Pani Puri and served it to children and tourists. A video related to which has gone viral on social media, in which the Trinamool Congress supremo was seen filling crispy hollow puris with potatoes and dipping them in tamarind water and serving them to the people.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited a stall run by women of a self-help group (SHG) in Darjeeling and was seen making 'phuchka' (Pani puri) during which she made and served Pani puri to children and tourists. In West Bengal, Pani Puri is called Phuchka.

Sharing the video, TMC tweeted and wrote, "Our Hon'ble President Mamata Banerjee reached 'Sunday Haat', a food stall run by SHGs in Darjeeling. Showing her appreciation for women for their hard work, she performed Bengal's favourite Phuchka. Supported them in the preparation and also fed delicious snacks to the enthusiastic children."

Mamata Banerjee asked the stall owner to serve phuchka to one of the tourists as she "came as a guest". The TMC chief was on a visit to Darjeeling on Tuesday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected board members of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration. Where she has another program on Wednesday.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had prepared the popular Tibetan dish 'Momo' at a roadside stall during her last visit to Darjeeling. In 2019, while returning to Kolkata from the sea resort town of Digha, she prepared and served tea at a stall.
