The incident took place on Friday, in a place called Mada village in Singrauli district the victim lodged a complaint against her 65 year old husband. According to the report by the local police, the accused has had several complaints registered against him for beating and having arguments with his wife for having an extra marital affair.
One of the police officers reveled that the accused had used local needle and thread to stitch the private parts of the woman. The woman was immediately hospitalized. A case had been registered against the man but the complainant has requested to the authorities that no strict action should be taken against her husband.
The man is said to have fled the town on getting the news of complaint being registered against him. Several cases have been registered against the accused including, sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 498 (detaining with criminal intent) and other relevant cases were registered against the accused.

The middle aged couple have children of their own who are married while they both live alone in the village. The victim was suspected to have an illegitimate relationship with a man of the same village. The doubts of the same were deepened after the woman asked the authorities to not take strict actions.
