In an attempted sacrilege incident, a man on Wednesday was arrested for pulling out an obscene act at Mokhampura's Gurudwara Sahib. Witnesses report that the individual in question, identified as Bhajan Singh, was seen attempting to take off his trousers in the middle of the Gurudwara which prompted the devotees to restrain him.
One of the devotees claimed that Bhajan Singh had his trousers halfway down his legs and was being obscene before being restrained. Following the incident, the accused was brought to the police station where he was demanded to be taken into custody for offending religious sentiments.
As per the information received, Bhajan Singh is the son of Bachitar Singh and he resides near the Golden Temple. He sustains himself through Langar sewa of the Gurudwara. His motives remain unknown and according to reports is mentally challenged. He is in police custody and an investigation is underway.
