Massive fire breaks out in Passport Office building in Jalandhar

Sounds of explosions due to the fire were heard coming from the building, creating panic in the neighborhood.

A massive fire broke out on the third floor of the passport office building which is located near Guru Nanak Mission Chowk in Jalandhar. The terrifying accident occurred around 9:30 am on Saturday, May 8 causing chaos in the area.

The fire broke out in the office of PNB MetLife Insurance located on the third floor of the building. Horrifying visuals could be witnessed as the entire office got caught in the fire in little time. 

The accident was instantly reported to the police and fire brigade.

Two fire brigade vehicles arrived at the spot and got control over the fire after working hard for about half an hour. However, the office was burnt badly and huge property loss was observed. No human life was lost in the accident as the office was close due to Covid lockdown in the state.

As mentioned by locals, sounds of explosions due to the fire were heard coming from the building. This created panic in the neighborhood. The smoke could be seen coming out of the passport office building.

People present at the location where the fire accident occurred are mentioning sparking as the reason for the breakout. However, the police are still investigating the reason for the fire.
