A massive outage is witnessed as some of the world’s biggest websites have gone down. Multiple internet outages affected several news websites and social media platforms on Tuesdaymorning. Besides, Amazon, Reddit, Twitch, Spotify and Pinterest were also impacted.

The outage began shortly before 11 am UK time. The site visitors were receiving error messages while trying to reach the sites including Error 503, Service Unavailable, Connection Failure,etc.

Websites of some of the British news outlets were down as they were not immediately loading. The main website of the UK government was also down and the White House website was also showingerror but is now restored.

Major news websites like Financial Times, Bloomberg, the Guardian, the New York Times, CNN were down. In India, Quora was also down, however, it appears to be back now. Along with these,Stack Overflow, GitHub, gov.uk, Hulu, HBO Max, Quora, Paypal, Vimeo and Shopify were also affected.

After facing this huge outage, users took to social media platforms to complain over the matter. Around 21,000 Reddit users reported issues, whereas, over 2,000 people complained about theAmazon outage.

On the outage, the Guardian’s UK technology correspondent Alex Hern said that “the massive internet outage has been traced to a failure in a content delivery network run by Fastly.”
