Max Hospital chain withdraws order of ‘No New Patients Admission’ after receiving oxygen supply

The hospital chain stated, “We have received emergency supplies at Max Saket and Max Smart which will last for another 2 hours. We are still awaiting more supplies.”

Max Hospital Chain in Delhi has withdrawn the order of suspension of new patient admissions. On Friday morning, the hospital had said that it would not admit any new patient until the oxygen supply stabilizes. Now, hospitals have restored the oxygen supply and claim the stock to last for three hours and are waiting for more supply.

While suspending new patient admissions, Healthcare provider Max Healthcare stated, “We regret to inform that we are suspending any news patient admissions in all our hospitals in Delhi NCR till oxygen supplies stabilize.”

Later the tweet was deleted as the hospital had received emergency oxygen supply and has restored admission service in hospitals. The hospital chain stated, “We have received emergency supplies at Max Saket and Max Smart which will last for another 2 hours. We are still awaiting more supplies.”

DCP of South Delhi had tweeted, “Oxygen Carrying vehicle has reached Max Smart and Max Saket. Another vehicle is en route for Max East West. Senior officers are monitoring the situation.”

The Max Hospital Saket had sent SOS stating a shortage of oxygen early Friday morning. The hospital had claimed it has left with less than an hour oxygen supply and around 700 covid patients are admitted. The tweet by the hospital read, “SOS-Less than an hour’s Oxygen supplies at Max Smart Hospital and Max Hospital Saket. Awaiting, promised fresh supplies from INOX since 1 am.” “Over 700 patients admitted, need immediate assistance,” the hospital added.

Meanwhile, in an unfortunate incident reported on Friday morning, 25 critical covid patients died at Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. The director of the hospital claimed Oxygen shortage to be the reason for the deaths.
