The entire world was left heartbroken on Thursday when it was announced that Hollywood actor Michael Gambon died at the age of 82. Sir Michael Gambon was famous among children, youths, and even senior citizens for his stellar character of Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts in six of the eight Harry Potter films. Talking about Michael Gambon's death reason, reports suggest that 'Albus Dumbledore' died following “a bout of pneumonia.” His family issued a statement which said, "We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside." Notably, apart from his deep baritone voice, Gambon was widely adored by Potterheads for supporting Harry Potter in every possible way and ultimately hatching a plan to kill Lord Voldemort in the fantasy-drama movie. It is pertinent to mention here that Michael Gambon landed Albus Dumbledore's character after the death of his predecessor, Richard Harris, in 2002. Richard Harris portrayed the character of Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter movies i.e. The Soccer Stone and Chamber of Secrets.

It is pertinent to mention here that multiple Harry Potter characters have died in the past few years. Hollywood actor Robbie Coltrane who played the character Hagrid in Harry Potter movies died in 2022. Robbie died following multiple organ failure. The death certificate detailed that Coltrane suffered from sepsis, lower respiratory tract infection, and heart block before his passing. Not only Hagrid, but also Severus Snape played by Hollywood actor Alan Rickman died in 2016. In August 2015, Rickman had a minor stroke, which led to the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He revealed that he had terminal cancer to only his closest confidants. On 14 January 2016, he died in London at the age of 69, just over a month short of his 70th birthday.
