In a bizarre scene near Phillaur on Sisk Lane, a milk-laden truck overturned, spilling gallons and gallons of milk. The truck, which was en route from Batala to Ambala, lost control and overturned near RC Plaza. Witnesses reported that the driver, Balwant Singh, suffered some serious injuries in the crash. Police officials, including SHO Jaswinder Singh and Neeraj Kumar, swiftly responded, ensuring the driver was rushed to the Civil Hospital for medical attention.
As the milk began spilling across the road, it quickly turned into what some onlookers called a “white river.” It was much evident in the video, taking turns on the internet, that people around were more interested in milk than being decent humans in an emergency. Rather than helping the driver or securing the scene, a large number of locals scrambled to scoop up as much milk as they could. Balwant Singh, the driver, explained that the accident occurred when a motorcyclist abruptly braked in front of him, forcing him to swerve onto the footpath and causing the truck to overturn. The container, which was carrying an estimated 23,000 to 24,000 liters of milk, turned the scene into an unexpected frenzy. The chaotic reaction to the spill, though surprising, highlighted the lengths to which some would go for an unexpected windfall, even in the face of an accident.
