A minor girl of 14 years, who is a student of class 9th residing in "Mand Chaunta" a village in Ludhiana district of Punjab, India, was "Gang Raped" by 3 individuals said to belong to the same village as the victim. The incident occurred on the 17th of July 2020. The victim's parents had both left for their respective jobs and later that day at 2 pm, the girl decided to go into the fields nearby to relieve herself. The three accused who have been identified as Manoj, Arjun, and Nikku, after threatening the minor, raped her.
When the victim's parents arrived home from their respective jobs, the girl shared her horrendous plight that had transpired during the day. Afraid and ashamed of having their reputation being tarnished in their community if word of the incident got out, the parents of the victim decided against reporting the incident to the local authorities.
The next day, her parents returned earlier from their work and saw the accused trying to abduct their daughter. Amid the commotion, the accused left the girl and threatened the parents with dire consequences before fleeing the spot.

The parents later reported the incident to the police and filed a complaint.
The ASI of the Koom Kalan Police Department, Mr. Harmeet Singh has stated that a case under the "POCSO ACT" has been filed against all of the accused, and the police are on a lookout for the accused who presently are absconding.
