Modi cabinet expansion: Dr Harsha Vardhan, Babul Supriyo, leaders who quit ministry ahead of big revamp

Sources say about 43 fresh faces will be inducted into the cabinet to revamp the Union cabinet.

Several big politicians have resigned on Wednesday, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's huge cabinet reshuffle. Around 11 prominent leaders have quit the ministry. The biggest shock amongst them was Union minister for health and family welfare Harsh Vardhan who is spearheading the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic and Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal who has always been dedicatedly working towards improving the education system in the country. 

Sources say about 43 fresh faces will be inducted into the cabinet to revamp the Union cabinet and Modi's new cabinet will have more young leaders and also equal representation will be given to leaders belonging to OBSc, STs and SCs. Women too are getting a due representation.

  •  Governor of Karnataka Thawarchand Gehlot
  •  Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey
  •  Minister of State Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Rao Saheb Danve Patil
  •  Minister of State, Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Ratan Lal Kataria
