Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited Adampur Air Base in Jalandhar and boosted the morale of jawans. PM Modi's Adampur Visit was seen as a symbolic move as Pakistani media propagated fake news claiming that it destroyed the air defence system at Adampur Airport. As per reports, the Prime Minister was briefed by Indian Air Force personnel on the current security status and operational readiness of the base. He also interacted with jawans stationed there, praising their dedication and valor.

The visit came in the wake of false claims by Pakistani media channels and social media pages, which alleged that Pakistan had damaged India’s S-400 air defense system stationed at the Adampur Air Base. The Indian government had earlier dismissed these claims as baseless and part of a misinformation campaign. Prime Minister Modi’s presence at the base is being seen as a direct reply to Pakistan’s propaganda, reaffirming that operations at Adampur remain unaffected and fully functional.

Interestingly, the pictures shared by PM Modi showcased the Russian-made S-400 in the background. S-400 is known as India's "Sudarshan Chakra." Pakistan propagated fake news that it not only downed India's Rafale jets but also destroyed India's Air Defence System S-400. However, the presence of S-400 and jets in the background debunks Pakistan's fake narrative.

For the unversed, India has procured a total of five squadrons of the Russian-made S-400 air defence missile system, known in Indian service as "Sudarshan Chakra." Of these, three squadrons are already operational, while the remaining two are expected to be delivered by 2026.
