In Nawanshahr's Aima Chahal village, a mother passed away from heart attack while grieving the loss of her son in Canada. Gurvinder aged 24, a Canadian, was reportedly attacked on July 9 by unidentified assailants. Further on July 14th, he passed away while receiving treatment. When the deceased person's family relatives learnt about this tragedy, they withheld all information from his family.
Only Thursday evening did his family members learn of his son's passing. Mother Narinder Kaur, aged 52 suffered a heart attack after becoming unable to bear the agony of her son's departure. When the family brought her to the hospital in Ropar, she was given a recommendation to go to DMC Hospital in Ludhiana. During her treatment there, she passed away.
Two years ago, Gurvinder Singh travelled to Canada to pursue his education. He has two more brothers. He originally belongs to Karimpur Chahwala, but he resided at Aima Chahal for a considerable amount of time. His father is a farmer by profession. Both mother and son were laid to rest on Saturday afternoon, July 29. Gurvinder Singh's body arrived in Delhi from Canada on the night of July 28.
