MS Dhoni's father and mother have both tested positive for COVID-19 and have been admitted to a Ranchi private hospital.

Dhoni's parents are being treated at Pulse Superspeciality Hospital, according to a source.

Soon after contracting the virus, Pan Singh Dhoni and Devaki were rushed to Ranchi's Pulse Hospital on Bariyatu Road. According to hospital reports, the two are not in a critical condition, their oxygen levels are normal, and their lungs are completely functioning.

Dhoni is currently in Mumbai, where he is representing Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League's 2021 edition. CSK captain Virat Kohli is set to play in his fourth match of the tournament against Kolkata Knight Riders later today.

Dhoni spent time with his family in the UAE after IPL 2020 because he had not played in any competitive matches prior to the current season of IPL. Dhoni joined Chennai Super Kings in March and oversaw and led a training camp in Chennai with domestic teams. Dhoni and his CSK teammates then flew to Mumbai for a mandatory quarantine period of seven days before starting IPL 2021 training.

Dhoni has been within the bio-secure bubble since March, which has been maintained in the wake of an unprecedented increase in COVID-19 cases in India.

Notably, all eight IPL franchises are operating in strict bio-bubble environments across the world, even as the second wave of Covid-19 cases continues to rise at an alarming rate. Over 2.95 lakh new Covid-19 cases have been filed in India in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to over 1.56 million.
