Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA and mafia don MukhtarAnsari has tested positive for Covid-19 in Banda jail.
Two other inmates have also tested positive for thevirus.
The jail inmates were tested for Covid on Saturday andthe reports came on Sunday.
Mukhtar has been lodged in the isolation cell of the jailand his health is stable, according to official sources. Mukhtar was brought toBanda jail from Punjab earlier this month, amidst tight security.
Meanwhile, Ansari has more than 30 FIRs and more than 14criminal trials including heinous crimes of murder and under the Gangster Act againsthim in various MP/MLA courts in Uttar Pradesh for which he was brought fromPunjab’s Ropar Jail to Banda.
