
National Youth Day also known as Vivekananda Jayanti is celebratedevery year on January 12 on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. This day wasdeclared by the Government of India in 1984 and since 1985 it began to becelebrated as National Youth Day.
The Government of India quoted that ‘the philosophy ofSwamiji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source ofinspiration for the Indian Youth Day.’
