Punjab: Amid Covid-19 scare, Nawanshahr locals get some relief

Amid the global scare of coronavirus, which has killed thousands of people, a news of relief has come from Nawanshahr, Punjab. So far, 33 people have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus and has claimed a life in Punjab.

CFew days back, a 70-year-old man--Baldev Singh, who returned to Patwala, a village of Nawanshahr from Germany via Italy died of coronavirus. To whomsoever Baldev Singh approached got infected with virus like a chain. Due to Baldev Singh, till now, 24 people got infected with the virus in just 6 days. 18 of them are from Nawanshahr, 3 from Hoshiarpur and 3 from Phillaur's Virka village.

Meanwhile, a news of relief has come from Nawanshahr which has pacified the people for some time. In fact, 18 patients of Nawanshahr have tested positive for the virus, out of which 3 are of Hoshiarpur and 3 from Jalandhar.  

In Nawanshahr, samples of 61 people have been collected, out of which 40 have been found negative, which is a big relief to the people of Punjab.

It is worth mentioning that about 20 villages in Doaba have been sealed and are being sanitized. 114 samples have been collected so far and the report is yet to come. Their reports will come out tomorrow.

 Due to this, the nearby villages are being monitored. People's commuting has been stopped. It is also pertinent to mention here that nine other suspected patients have been admitted to civil hospital in Virka village of Phillaur, including a women who has been admitted to Baba's private hospital.
