Netizens trend #BoycottGanna, Gaana issues official statement over communal tweets of its employee

The alleged lynching and murder case ff Bajrang Dal activist Rinku Sharma in Mangolpuri, Delhi has created a huge stir on social media. On Wednesday, a young man was killed with a knife in Mangolpuri area of ​​Delhi. Now different claims are being made in this case. The mother alleges that her son used to chant the slogan of Jai Shri Ram in the locality, so he was killed. At the same time, the police claim that the deceased and the accused were friends. He had a fight at the birthday party. The incident should not be given a communal color.

The name of the deceased is Rinku Sharma. He is said to be a worker of Bajrang Dal. Rinku's family also claims that Rinku had earlier organized a Sri Ram rally in the area on August 5 last year. Even then, objections were raised on behalf of the accused. Photos of dead Rinku have also gone viral on social media.

Going by the various screenshots shared by the people on social media, a user named Tanzila Anis who is allegedly an employee of music streaming platform 'Gaana' mocked the death of Rinku Sharma. Her previous tweets also went viral which was derogatory in nature and targetted the Hindu gods and goddesses. 

Following that people on social media started to ask questions from the Gaana app and also people started uninstalling the app.

A user wrote, "Hey @gaana do you edorse this Anti hindu behaviour while doing business in a hindu majority country? Hey @gaana  Uninstalled Ready For #BoycottGaana"

Another user wrote, "Are you going to take any action @prashan_agarwal against your Hinduphobe employee @aaliznat"

"Mr. @prashan_agarwal is this how you select your employee? Pathetic, are you a Hindu? I am sorry for you," added another user.

Following this, Gaana released its official statement and wrote, "We do not endorse the beliefs & views of our employees in their personal capacity. Gaana respects religious sentiments of every community in India. We have been apprised of the issue & will take necessary steps at the earliest based on our enquiries."

Interestingly, after Tanzila's derogatory tweets went viral on social media, she deleted her account. Seeing the people's anger on social media, Gaana's action will determine how it will reintroduce faith in the market.
