CM Yogi applauds boatman who rescued newly born girl packed in wooden box

Call it a miraculous save or fate, a newly born girl packed in a wooden box, which was floating on the Ganga river was rescued by a boatman.

As per the reports, the box was floating along the Dadri Ghat in Ghazipur when the boatman noticed it. The box in which the infant was placed was studded with pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses along with the infant’s horoscope said the boatman who is also a priest.

Reportedly, when police were informed about the matter, the baby girl was rushed to the district hospital.

However, now Does the question arise who will look after the girl? As the girl is abandoned by her family, efforts are still underway to locate her parents, said the police official.

Meanwhile, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has applauded the efforts of the boatman and has assured that his government will make all necessary arrangements for the child’s upbringing.

"As a token of gratitude, he will be benefited by all eligible government schemes. The UP government will make arrangements for the upbringing of the child," the Chief Minister said in a tweet in Hindi.
