The National Investigation Agency recovered Rs 1.27 crore cash during searches at the residence of Amritpal Singh, the main suspect in a case of 102-kg heroin smuggling via the Attari border in April.

They said that suppliers headquartered in Afghanistan hid the heroin shipment inside licorice roots (Mulethi). The agency said in a statement that while searching Singh's house, a resident of Tarn Taran in Punjab, it also found digital devices and papers.
