Violent clashes between two groups of Nihangs wielding kirpans at a Gurudwara in Kapurthala leave four injured, including one in critical condition.

In an incident that took place in Kapurthala on April 24th, a violent brawl erupted between two groups of Nihangs at Gurudwara Shri Bawain Sahib located on Amritsar Road. According to sources, the dispute was related to the service at the gurudwara, which had been a matter of contention for some time.

The altercation turned violent, with the two groups attacking each other with kirpans, resulting in injuries to four people. Kamaljit Singh (Ginni Bawa), Manjit Bahadur Singh Bawa, Davinder Kaur, and Simranjit Singh were all injured in the incident and have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Kapurthala for treatment. Ginni Bawa, who is in critical condition, has been referred to Amritsar Medical College by the attending doctors.

The police have taken note of the incident and are currently investigating the matter. SP D Harvinder Singh and his team have visited the site and are going through the CCTV footage to piece together the events that led to the brawl. The police have assured that action will be taken against those responsible for the violence.
