Delhi Police have arrested nine people for allegedly pasting posters that criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the Covid19 vaccination. Around 10 FIRs were filed across several districts.

The police said four people were arrested two days ago and three others were arrested on May 14. According to police, these men were pasting posters on behalf of AAP councilor Dhirender Kumar. The matter is yet to be probed and Councillor Kumar has denied all the allegations.

The posters with critical comments against PM Modi read, “Modiji hamare bachon ki vaccine videsh kyon bhej diye (Modiji why did you send our children’s vaccine abroad.)” These posters surfaced in several parts of Delhi and FIR are registered in West, East, North East, Central, Dwarka and Rohini districts.

"On receiving the information regarding the posters, all district police officers were alerted. Ten FIRs have been registered and police are registering more after receiving complaints,” said a senior police officer.

On the matter, DCP said, “An FIR under sections 3 of the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 3 Press and Registration of Books Act, 51(1)(b) and 54 DDMA, 188, 269 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against them. Around 860 posters and 20 banners have been recovered from their possession. During questioning, they claimed an AAP councilor asked them to paste all these posters. We are verifying the claims and further investigations are on.”

Earlier, Missin posters of Prime Minister Modi surfaced in Varanasi. In a separate incident, a member of the youth wing of Congress had filed a missing person complaint against PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other BJP cabinet ministers. The missing plaint alleged that all mentioned ministers have gone missing, leaving citizens of the nation to suffer amid pandemic.
