Nitin Kohli appeals to 'make yoga a daily habit' as record 21,000 people attend 'CM di Yogshala' in Jalandhar's PAP Ground

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh praised the public's enthusiasm for yoga. Nitin Kohli, Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge, urged youth to adopt yoga for mental and physical fitness.

A record-breaking yoga gathering unfolded today at Jalandhar’s PAP Ground as over 21,000 participants came together under the banner of ‘CM di Yogshala’, reaffirming Punjab’s growing commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh was the chief guest at the event.  Dr. Balbir Singh said it brought him immense joy to witness thousands of people joining hands with the government through CM di Yogshala. He noted that the initiative was launched two years ago from Jalandhar under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann Ji and presently around 3,200 yoga classes are conducted daily across the state, benefiting nearly one lakh people. 

Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli, in his vote of thanks, delivered a stirring message. Kohli in his address said, "At CM di Yogshala, seeing everyone here this early, especially the children who woke up at 5 AM, fills me with gratitude. A special thanks to our Health Minister, Sardar Balbir Singh Ji, for his unshakable support in making this event such a grand success. I also want to acknowledge the relentless efforts of our administration and police forces who worked day and night to ensure flawless execution. Their dedication made it possible for thousands to join this fitness movement safely and comfortably."

"I urge everyone to make yoga a daily habit. It’s not just physical fitness—it’s mental clarity and balance. Personally, I dedicate an hour each morning to yoga along with playing squash, and I encourage all, especially the youth, to embrace this way of life. My heartfelt thanks to DC Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, CP Dhanpreet Kaur, Corporation Commissioner, and all our dignitaries for their active contribution to this historic event," Kohli added. 

The event witnessed the presence of multiple dignitaries, including Mayor Jalandhar Vaneet Dhir, Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli, Principal Prem Kumar, Health Secretary Kumar Rahul, Vice Chancellor Shri Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Hoshiarpur Dr. Sanjeev Sood, Director Rajinder Singh Rihal, ADGP Naresh Arora, etc.
