Nitin Kohli holds meeting with traders & GST officials after Phagwara Gate Market raid row; 'will soon present a clear solution'

Aam Aadmi Party's Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge & Industrialist Nitin Kohli on Monday chaired a meeting with traders and GST Officials at Circuit House. Nitin Kohli convened the meeting after Jalandhar witnessed multiple protests from the shopkeepers against GST raids in the city. For the unversed, GST officials first raided Sehdev Market, and after a few days, the department raided a mobile shop in Jalandhar's Phagwara Market. 

In response, shopkeepers shut down their shops. Following that, Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli came in support of the shopkeepers and assured that he would convene a meeting with GST officials as well as shopkeepers. 

What did Nitin Kohli say after meeting with traders and GST officials?

Addressing the media, Nitin Kohli said, "We will soon speak with the concerned department and work toward finding a mutually agreeable solution. Our aim is to ensure that the department can continue its work, the government's image remains positive, and at the same time, traders get relief from any unjust pressure.

Today's meeting was very productive, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. I am confident that we will soon resolve the matter and present a clear solution that works for everyone. This was the first-ever formal meeting of its kind to address such issues. Until now, no such discussion had taken place. Going forward, we will also hold internal meetings involving local Halka Incharges to gather broader input.

We also plan to meet with Minister Mohinder Bhagat and take this issue to Chandigarh, where we will work at the state level to finalize a sustainable resolution. We are committed to solving this issue swiftly and efficiently."
