Nitish Kumar slams Channi for “won’t let UP, Bihari bhaiyas to enter Punjab" remark

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lashes out at Charanjit Singh Channi for his remark on UP, Bihar people. Nitish said, “Do Congress know how much is the contribution of people of Bihar in Punjab and how many are living (there)?"

"I am stunned how people make such statements,” said Nitish Kumar.

Earlier, AAP and BJP slammed Channi for his statement over the people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. They said making such a comment is an insult to people belonging to that particular state.

Arvind Kejriwal said, “It is very shameful. We strongly condemn comments aimed at any individual or any particular community. Priyanka Gandhi also belongs to Uttar Pradesh so she is also a ‘bhaiya’.”

BJP also criticized Priyanka Gandhi for smiling and applauding Channi when he made such a remark. The comment had drawn a lot of criticism on social media.

"Priyanka Gandhi is the daughter-in-law of Punjab. Will not let the 'Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi de bhaiye', who have come here to rule, enter the state," said Channi during his rally.
