No VIP in Mizoram: Minister of state R Lalzirlaina mops hospital floor, photo goes viral

Covid-19 positive Mizoram Minister was seen mopping the floors at Zoram Medical College, where he is admitted for his Covid treatment.

A Mizoram minister has set up an example after he was captured mopping the floors of the hospital where he has been treated for Covid-19 along with his wife and son.

The photo has been doing rounds on social media, the photo captured is of Mizoram Power and Electricity Department Minister R Lalzirliana.

After the photo went viral, Lalzirliana said that it is not the first time that he is mopping the floor, he has swept and mopped the floors at his house and other places. 

Lalzirliana told a news agency, “My motive in mopping the floors was not to embarrass the nurses or doctors but I want to educate and lead others by setting an example.”

He further said, “Sweeping, mopping the floors, or performing household chores are no new jobs to me. I use to do it at my house and other places when it is required to do so.” 

Earlier as well, Lalzirliana had seen cleaning and mopping the floors of his Delhi residence.

The Mizoram ministers have already seen living a normal life like performing household chores, traveling in public transport, serving as a cook at community feasts, and participating in community works.
