Legal trouble seems to be mounting upon Jalandhar West MLA of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sheetal Angural as a non-bailable warrant was issued against him in the case pertaining to Harvinder Kaur Minty. The non-bailable warrant has been issued against AAP MLA Sheetal Angural by Jalandhar's Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Amit Kumar Garg's court. Strict action against the AAP MLA was taken after he failed to appear before the court despite repeated summons in the Harvinder Kaur Minty case. Notably, the court in its direction directed the Police to arrest AAP MLA Sheetal Angrual and produce him till August 24. Not only this but orders have also been given to cancel all the surety bonds of Sheetal Angural and confiscate them. Notably, Sheetal Angural had requested the court to exempt him from personally appearing in the court 'on the ground that he has go to attend the urgent piece of work at Vidhan Sabha.'

The court in its order clearly stated that it gave exemption to Sheetal Angural multiple times, however, "Sheetal Angural visited England without permission of the Court and filed false and frivolous exemption applications in the Court....Upon this, Sheetal Angural was directed to produce the passport/copy of passport to verify the fact about the genuineness of exemption application and visiting aboard without permission of the Court on the next date of hearing i.e. 11.07.2023 and his exemption moved on 14.06 2023 was allowed subject to verification of above said facts. However, on 11.07.2023 passport/copy of passport was not produced and again an application for exemption has moved on behalf of Sheetal Angural on the ground that he went to Vidhan Sabha meeting and he is unable to appear before the Court."

Notably, Angural did not submit a copy of his passport to the court, but he again filed a motion to exempt him from appearing in the court personally as he was 'nominated as member for a constituted committee'. Again AAP MLA Sheetal Angrual failed to appear before the court and also did not submit his pass port copy. As a result, the court came to the conclusion that "Sheetal Angural is not complying with the orders of the Court and it clearly shows that he is challenging the judicial system and moving exemption applications by taking the Court proceedings for granted."

The court order finally stated, " in view of the given application moved by Sheetal Angural for exemption from personal appearance for today, which is without any supporting document, is hereby declined. His bail order is hereby canceled and his bail bonds and surety bonds are also canceled and forfeited to the State. He be now summoned through NBW of arrest for 24.08.2023 Notice to his surety be also issued for said date."
