Punjabi singer & actor Diljit Dosanjh has been facing criticism from left, right, and center for doing a movie with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani actress Hania Aamir will be seen in the upcoming movie Sardaar Ji 3. Due to the presence of Hania Aamir in the movie, the makers of the movie are releasing it overseas and not in India.  Despite this, multiple film bodies, including FWICE, have demanded to ban and a boycott of Diljit Dosanjh in India and other Indian movies, including Border 2 which he has been a part.

Not only this, but Punjabi stars like Mika Singh and B Praak have slammed Diljit for such a stance despite being aware of the political situation between India and Pakistan. Now, Punjabi Sufi singer Jyoti Nooran or Nooran Sisters has joined the chorus but has come in support of the Punjabi singer.

Jyoti Nooran, who was in Jalandhar for a personal event, spoke to the media after purchasing a Jawa bike, distanced themselves from the political debate but emphasized peace. “Everyone is good. May God take all to greater heights,” one of the Nooran Sisters said. While she admitted that boycotting a film didn’t feel right, she added, “There may be personal reasons involved that we are not fully aware of.”

Earlier, artists like Jasbir Jassi had come out in support of Dosanjh, while singer B Praak took a more critical stance, indirectly questioning the timing and intent behind the release.

The controversy was further fueled by the revelation that Sardar Ji 3 will not release in India, and that its YouTube trailer is unavailable to Indian audiences. Viewers attempting to watch it in India are met with a message, "This video is not available in your country."

Diljit Dosanjh breaks silence on Hania Aamir's controversy

Diljit in an interview with BBC Asian Network, addressed the controversy and said, "Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in February, and then everything was fine. (When the film was made, everything was. We shot the film in February, and everything was fine back then)."

"Uske baad, bahut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi. (After that a lot of things happened, which are beyond our control. The producer decided that the film will not be released in India, so they can release it overseas. They have invested a lot of money, and when the film was being made, nothing like this was happening)"

Diljit further expressed his support to the Producers and said, "They know that there will be a loss because you're removing an entire territory. Even when I signed the film, everything was fine. Now, the situation is not in our hands. So, if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them."
