The study said it is the low intake of healthy food which is causing deaths and severe health problems. The study also found that one in 5 deaths globally twhich makes around 11 million people in 2017, occurred because of too much of sodium and a lack of whole grains, fruits and nuts and seeds. Diet packed with Trans fats, sugar-sweetened drinks and high levels of red and processed meats have been the major food which have caused health problems around the globe.

Uzbekistan tops the list in terms of highest diet-related deaths followed by Afghanistan. Israel has the lowest number of cases followed by France, Spain and Japan.

For the United States, India, Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Russia, Egypt, Germany, Iran and Turkey, lack of whole grains was the greatest risk factor; that doesn't mean people in these countries ate no grains, rather they ate processed grains, with little nutritional value and the potential for high calorie count.
