The "Wake up Calls" to students and parents for motivating them for preparing well for the Board Examinations, is an innovative good practice started by dedicated teachers as part of their concerted and consistent efforts to accomplish "MIssion Shat pratishat".

This good practice has been discussed in the Motivational Meetings being convened for giving a boost to ‘Mission Shat Pratishat" by the education department time and again.

The State Education Department has just been playing a role of “catalyst “ and motivating the officials, teachers and community for emulating good practices shared in the motivational meetings. The Department has not issued any official orders. The Mentors are just playing a role of “facilitators”; asking them to share these good practices in Social Media groups to motivate others.

Mission Shat Pratishat was kick-started by Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh; that’s why it has assumed much significance, says District Education Officer (SE), Jagjit Singh.

“The Mission is Not  just the wishful thinking but a well thought-up strategy planned by the department to raise the academic standards of the govt schools as well as make the govt schools as centres of academic excellence”, DEO further said.

“With a view to mobilizing the students and parents, the morning calls are being made by the school heads, teachers and mentors voluntarily to encourage them to study hard for the upcoming board exams”, said Amarjit Khatkar, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Mukandpur.

Vijay Kumar, Principal, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Malewal further elaborated that Govt school teachers had been braving all odds be it covid or the extreme  cold weather and resorting to the innovative techniques; during  prevailing inclined situations; so as to bring about quality education in its true spirit.

Kavita Sabharwal, state awardee, English Mistress, Government Senior Secondary School for boys, Rahon said that the  teachers had voluntarily been taking  extra classes both physical and virtual as per the requirements to achieve mission shat pratishat.

Meanwhile, the Education Department has mobilised the school heads to prepare a data base on the basis of the performance of the students in the house examinations so that a micro planning for the weak, average and meritorious students could be prepared.

“The simplified study materials, question banks, model question papers for the students and requisite material for meritorious students have been prepared and being uploaded on Punjab Educare App. The study material is also being provided to the students through a well knit vast network of district and block level mentors. The teachers at grass root levels has been exhibiting exemplary  commendable zeal and enthusiasm to get these  innovative practices implemented at the cutting edge levels,” said DEO (SE), Jagjit Singh.
