Jalandhar, March 27:As a tribute to those who lost theirlives to CoronaVirus, the officers/officials of district administration onSaturday morning observed a one hour silence at district administrativecomplex, Jalandhar. At sharp 11am a siren rang in the complex, following whichall the officers/officials observed one hour silence in the presence ofAdditional Deputy Commissioner (G) Jasbir Singh.  

Divulging the details, the ADC said that the stategovernment has directed to observe silence as a mark of respect to those whohave lost their lives to this virus on every Saturday between 11am to 12pm. Hefurther added that all the officers/officials along with police personnelpresent in the complex observed one hour silence on the sound of the siren andremembered the victims of Covid-19.

The ADC said that a large number of people globally havelost their lives during the pandemic and the virus is still taking its toll onall of us. He mentioned that people could avoid the ill-effects of this virusonce they get vaccinated as it would boost their immunity level. Mr. Singh alsolaid emphasis on the need of observing safety protocols such as maintainingsocial distancing, washing hands, and wearing masks etc.
