One hour silence observed as a mark of respect for Covid-19 victims

Divulging the details, the ADC said that the state government has directed to observe silence as a mark of respect to those who have lost their lives to this virus on every Saturday between 11am to 12pm.

Jalandhar, March 27:As a tribute to those who lost their lives to CoronaVirus, the officers/officials of district administration on Saturday morning observed a one hour silence at district administrative complex, Jalandhar. At sharp 11am a siren rang in the complex, following which all the officers/officials observed one hour silence in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Jasbir Singh.  

Divulging the details, the ADC said that the state government has directed to observe silence as a mark of respect to those who have lost their lives to this virus on every Saturday between 11am to 12pm. He further added that all the officers/officials along with police personnel present in the complex observed one hour silence on the sound of the siren and remembered the victims of Covid-19.

The ADC said that a large number of people globally have lost their lives during the pandemic and the virus is still taking its toll on all of us. He mentioned that people could avoid the ill-effects of this virus once they get vaccinated as it would boost their immunity level. Mr. Singh also laid emphasis on the need of observing safety protocols such as maintaining social distancing, washing hands, and wearing masks etc.
