Our goal should be to fulfil Guru Ravidas ji’s vision of Begampura: MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary

Jalandhar, February 26 - Guru Ravidas ji presented before us a grand vision of Begampura and it should be our goal to fulfil that great dream of an equal and suffering free society, said Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary today at Shri Guru Ravidas Senior Secondary School during a function held to mark His Prakash Purab. 

Addressing an august gathering, he said that it is the ideas and principles of Guru Ravidas which are at the foundation of our Constitution drafted by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. “It is Guru Ravidas ji’s thoughts on equality and welfare that can guide us in realizing the dream of an ideal society. He gave us the vision of Begampura, a society where there is no suffering and sorrow. It is our responsibility to fulfil that vision,” MP Chaudhary said. 

He further stated that Guru Ravidas ji saw god in every person and promoted communal harmony in the society, adding that we should continue to spread his bani and work to strengthen the social fabric.

Later, accompanied by Sant Nirmal Dass Jaure Wale, Sant Nirmal Dass Abadan Wale, MLA Rajinder Beri, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori and Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, he led a nagar kirtan starting from Ravidas Bhawan. The procession passed through various parts of the city including Nakodar Chowk, Valmiki Chowk, Mahavir Marg and Ram Chowk and received hearty welcome from the sangat.

ADC Jasbir Singh, SSP Sandeep Garg, DCP Gurmeet Singh, District Congress Mahila Wing President Jasleen Sethi and a large number of councillors were among those present on these occasions.
