All security agencies, including the Punjab police (Pakistan's Punjab province), have been put on high alert. Leaves of all doctors and medical staff at all hospitals in Punjab have been suspended.

The statement added that all the staff have been directed to report for duty immediately, and district administrations in all Punjab districts have also been put on high alert.

All officers and personnel of all concerned institutions, including Civil Defence, have been called in, it added.

The educational institutions would continue to be closed on Wednesday, the statement added.

The Pakistani airspace that was shut down for all flight operations after the Indian attack is now being partially opened.

Indian military forces, early on Wednesday, conducted missile strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

But on the other hand, various Pakistani government-owned media organizations and social media handles started spreading unconfirmed and false reports in the hours that followed the surgical strikes.

Most of these were promptly debunked as false by independent commentators and India's official fact-checking infrastructure.

One of the most glaring falsehoods was the assertion that Pakistan had retaliated with missile attacks on 15 targets on Indian soil.

Various images and videos circulated in the aftermath of the operation were subsequently proven to be either digitally manipulated from unrelated previous occurrences or old archived footage reused to develop a false illusion of retaliation.

In spite of the obvious lack of substantiation, these falsehoods were being propagated by some mainstream Pakistani media outlets, signaling a concerted effort to manage the post-operation narrative and present a retaliatory stance.
