Pathankot Police intensifies crackdown to weed out criminals and anti-social elements from the district

Pursuant to the Punjab Police's mission to suppress gangsters and other criminal elements, Pathankot Police, under the direction of Punjab Director General of Police Shri Gaurav Yadav IPS, carried out Operation Eagle between the hours of 11 am and 4pm on Friday in order to uphold safety and security in the district.

This operation entailed comprehensive searches of bus stands, railway stations, and individuals who arouse suspicion, as well as the deployment of a powerful Naka at each police station, overseen by GO rank officers.

SSP Pathankot, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh s personally overseeing the operation under the direction of the DGP Punjab.

Disclosing more details to press, the Senior Superintendent of Police Pathankot, Shri Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said that the goal of this operation is to carry out searches of all bus and railway stations in the district in order to identify suspicious persons, with each station being overseen by a Superintendent of Police-level officer.

Additionally, one strong Nakas per police station will be established, headed by a GO, to inspect motorcycles and apprehend potentially suspicious individuals for verification.

The special teams that carried out the drive consisted of one Senior Superintendent of Police, two Superintendents of police, five Deputy Superintendents, ten Station House Officers, twenty-six NGO, and one hundred and thirty-two EPO. In order to ensure the success of this operation, all Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police and Station House Officers, along with their respective staff, were involved.

The Police teams conducted frisking of all persons at the Bus Stand and Railway Station and also checked the identity cards of the general public. Vehicles were also checked for any suspicious activities.

The Police also conducted checks on suspicious persons. The search operation was conducted in a systematic manner, with teams of police personnel from all police stations in the district carrying out a meticulous search of the areas. They searched for suspicious persons and activities.

The SSP Khakh declared that at the 10 prominent Naka points, as well as during search operations, suspicious vehicles and individuals are being examined, and the Vahan application is being utilized to ascertain the ownership of the vehicles.

Furthermore, he ensured that no disturbance is inflicted upon the public during searches. SSP Khakh emphasized that the public has provided substantial assistance, notifying us of any suspicious activity.

The SSP Khakh stated that a similar search operation would be conducted in the near future in order to deter criminal activity. The Pathankot Police is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all residents, and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the people.
