
Three people in Jalandhar were cheated out of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of getting a flat in the most posh building of Jalandhar, Jalandhar Heights, in Punjab. The Sadar police station of Jalandhar City has registered FIRs against 3 accused: three FIRs against Rohit son of Pyara Ram resident of Ram Nagar, two FIRs against Rohit's wife Vanita Vishal and one FIR against Rubina alias Rubia, daughter of Joginder Kumar resident of Ram Nagar.
The three accused are yet to be arrested. Police have registered a case under sections 406, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC. As per information received, the police are also likely to name other suspects in the case under 120-B.

Jasveer Kaur, resident of Defense Colony: Jagwinder Kaur, told the police that the said accused took about Rs 1.5 lakh in lieu of booking her sister Jasveer Kaur flat numbers 1004 and 2303 in Jalandhar Heights-2. The accused then allegedly handed over fake documents with fake seal of AGI Infra. Jagwinder filed a complaint with the police, following which the police registered a case.
Jai Gupta, resident of Jalandhar Heights-1: the accused, Rohit and Vanita took Rs 2.50 lakh cash and a check of about Rs 5 lakh for flat number 203-D in Jalandhar Heights-2. In the agreement made, the accused handed over fake documents with fake stamps to the victims.
Sunil Berry, resident of Jalandhar Heights-1: Rohit, Vanita and Rubina took about Rs 1.50 lakh from the victim for a flat in Jalandhar Heights Part-3. The accused also handed him fake documents. After investigation, the police registered a case.
