PunjabLarge Industrial Development Board (PLIDB) Chairman, Pawan Dewan welcomed the Punjabbudget for the year 2021-22 presented by Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badalin the Punjab Vidhan Sabha under the leadership of Chief Minister CaptAmarinder Singh. He said this budget will completely support the industries.
Ina statement issued here, Dewan said that the Industry and Trade Policy-2017formulated by the Punjab Government has opened new avenues for the growth oftrade and as a result, the state has received 1726 proposals under which theproposed investment of about Rs.71262 crore was done in four years and about 2.70lakh people got employment opportunities.
Hesaid in the year 2021-22, the proposal of Rs 10 Crore given for the newstartups will further accelerate the development of industries.
Meanwhile,setting up of new Sewage Treatment Plants at a cost of Rs.29 crore andrenovation of 5 Industrial Focal Points in Punjab under Trade Infrastructurefor Exports Scheme is an important initiative.
