PM Modi attends the convocation celebration of PDPU via video conferencing

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University’s (PDPU) convocation function was attended by PM Modi via video conference where he spoke about how India is going to cut carbon footprint by 30-35%.

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) convocation function was held on Saturday which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. 

PM Narendra Modi during the function stated that India has fixed a target of decreasing carbon footprint by 30 to 35 per cent.

PM Modi said, "Today, our country is moving ahead with the target of reducing the carbon footprint by 30 to 35 per cent. When I told this to the world, it expressed surprise and wondered if India can achieve it.”

Modi also mentioned that efforts are going on to increase and enhance the use of natural gas capacity in the country four times during this decade. While work has been initiated to double the oil refining capacity in the next five years.

Constant work is being done to strengthen and encourage the start-ups in the energy sector said, Modi. 

To strengthen startups, a special fund has been allocated for the purpose, PM informed.

"If you have any idea, product or a concept that you want to incubate, then this fund will be a good opportunity for you, and a gift from the government," he said.

PM Modi added, "In the oil and gas sector alone, crores of rupees are going to be invested during this decade, so you have a lot of opportunities in this field.”
