"Congress always pits people of a region against others. Congress CM gave a statement y'day that received claps from a member of the family in Delhi. Who are they insulting with such statements? Not one village here where people from UP-Bihar don't toil," said PM Modi.

Charanjit Singh Channi's hateful speech against UP-Bihar sparks row

Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday sparked a row while addressing a gathering in Ropar in the presence of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi and others. The Punjab CM had said, "Priyanka Gandhi is Punjaban. She is the daughter-in-law of Punjab. So, Punjabis get united. 'Bhaiyas' from UP, Bihar and Delhi want to come and rule Punjab. But we will not let them enter. On this, Priyanka Gandhi too came under the scanner of the social media and opposition parties as she was seen cheering and clapping on Channi's remarks.

Bihar, UP & Delhi CM slam Punjab CM Channi over his 'Bhaiyee' remark

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adiytanath condemned Punjab CM Channi remarks and called his statement unfortunate. During an interview with DD National, UP CM Yogi sa that the day labourers from UP stop going to other states for work, they (Congress government) know what situation will be confronted by them. "But I assure you, that the people of UP will stay in UP in the next 5 years and work for the development of their state.

After UP CM Yogi, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar joined the course and said, "The people of Bihar have contributed so much to Punjab. Does he know how many people are staying there and what kind of service are they rendering? He doesn't know this? I am surprised that people say such things."

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday had also slammed Punjab CM Channi and even reminded him which constituency Priyanka Gandhi represent and therefore she is also a 'Bhaiyajee'.
