PM Modi wishes Lata Mangeshkar on her 92nd Birthday

Bollywood's legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has impressed everyone with her soulful voice which is why she is known as the nightingale of India. For generations, songs sung by her have been the definition of melody. She has been the voice behind a number of romantic melodies like Lag Ja Gale, Ruk Bhi Jao Jana to Aaj Kal Paon Zameen Par.

 

On 28 September 1929, Lata Mangeshkar was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. She is an Indian playback singer and music director. She is one of the best known and most respected playback singers in India.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the first ones to wish the iconic singer. In his birthday wish, PM Modi praised her for the melodious voice that reverberates across the world.

 

This year, he prayed for Lata Mangeshkar's health and wrote, "Birthday greetings to respected Lata Didi. Her melodious voice reverberates across the world. She is respected for her humility & passion towards Indian culture. Personally, her blessings are a source of great strength. I pray for Lata Didi’s long & healthy life. @mangeshkarlata"

 



Bollywood celebrities like Juhi Chawla also wished The Nightingale of Bollywood on her special day. Juhi Chawla wrote, "A 100 trees for the legendary Lataji on her birthday Radio sun rahi thi , aapke 70’s ke gaane baj rahe the , aapki aawaz ko sunkar aisa laga jaise ,phoolon ki baarish ho rahi hai , jaise Gangaji beh rahi hai.. with much love and respect.”

 



Madhur Bhandarkar wrote, "Wishing a very Happy Birthday to @mangeshkarlata tai, the voice that touches every heart, Not a single day in my life goes without listening to your songs. May Lord Ganesh bless you with a long and healthy life”

Lata Mangeshkar will preside over a private family dinner on Tuesday on the occasion of her 92nd birthday. "It's God's grace and my parents' blessings that I have turned 92. I pray the Almighty blesses our country as well during these horrific Covid19 times," Mangeshkar told in an interview on Monday.
