'Rozgar Mela', bid to provide 10 Lakh govt jobs launched by PM Modi, hands over appointment letter to 75,000 new recruits

The program is seen as a major push towards employment which aims to recruit 10 Lakh personnel for various posts from across the department in the Government of India

Ahead of Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Rozgar Mela’, in a move to take over the prevailing menace of unemployment in the country, which aims to recruit 10 Lakh personnel for various posts from across the department in the Government of India.

The launch was done in virtual mode by the PM and a total of 75,000 newly inducted employees will be handed over the appointment letters.

Based on the statement released by Prime Minister’s Office, the move is significant toward fulfilling the continuous commitment of the Prime Minister to providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring the welfare of citizens as a whole.

The statement from the PMO read, "As per the directions of the Prime Minister, all Ministries and Departments are working towards filling up existing vacancies against sanctioned posts in Mission Mode.”

The new recruits from across the country will join 38 Ministries/Departments of the Government of India. The statement further detailed, "The appointees will join the government at various levels viz Group - A, Group - B (Gazetted), Group - B (Non-Gazetted) and Group - C.

The posts on which appointments are being made include Central Armed Force Personnel, Sub Inspector, Constable, LDC, Steno, PA, Income Tax Inspectors, MTS, among others.”

All the recruitments done so far are based on the mission mode either taken up by the Ministries and Departments carried out by themselves or through the centrally funded recruitment agencies such as UPSC, SSC, and Railway Recruitment Board.

To ensure smooth, hassle-free, and fast recruitment the process has been pushed in a tech-friendly manner, the PMO informed further in its release.
