Popular Rapper DMX passes away at 50, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh express grief

American rapper and actor Earl Simmons, popular by his stage name Dark Man X or DMX has died at the age of 50. He breathed his last in New York’s White Plains Hospital. According to the reports, he suffered from a heart attack due to an overdose of drugs.

His fans all around the globe are deeply saddened after hearing the demise of the artist. People across the globe are sharing pictures of the star on social media, remembering and paying the tribute to DMX.

Many Bollywood celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh have also shared the post and mourned the demise.

Music label Def Jam Recording has shared a statement and said, “We are saddened by the loss of our brother Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons!”

Bollywood and Hollywood celebrity Priyanka Chopra shared a post, writing, “He was one of my favorite artists growing up, and then to have had an opportunity to work with him was such dreams come true. Such a big loss to the music industry. #RIP DMX. Sending my love and thoughts to his family.”


Ranveer Singh has also paid tribute to the legend. He shared the picture of DMX on his social media story with his song ‘Let Me Fly’.

DMX was struggling with the problem of drug addiction for many years. In 2019, he decided to join an anti-drug rehabilitation center to get rid of this problem. Due to which he canceled many shows. Earl grown up in Yonkers, New York City, named himself DMX from a drum machine used in rap songs. He was tricked into smoking by an old rapper who was his mentor at the age of 14. He said, “He created a monster. Cocaine took my life on a few occasions.”

DMX started his carrier in 1998. His first studio album was ‘It’s Dark and Hell is Hot’, which got the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the popularity of the song. He gave many popular songs like ‘Rough Riders Anthem’, ‘Party Up’, ‘Get At Me Dog’, ‘Stop Being Grady’. His albums ‘The Great Depression' and ‘Grand Champion’ are also well-liked by his fans.
